Adapt your security systems before summer 2021
On August 18, 2011, a new regulation became effective under the name of Ministerial Order INT / 316/2011 of February 1 on the operation of alarm systems in the field of private security.
This Order stipulates a series of requirements that must be met by the security installations in order to be connected to the Alarm centre. These include:
- Who can perform the installations of the alarm systems,
- Which should be the characteristics of the elements that make them up,
- Which should be the contents and specifications of the installation projects,
- What should be the mandatory maintenance reviews of the systems,
- What requirements should be met by the operators of an alarm centre and other personnel involved and
- The definition of the basic aspects related to mobile alarm systems.
Likewise, it also establishes a series of procedures for the verification of the alarms once the signal arrives at the central reception. Other aspects included in the order are the maintenance of the equipment, communication, reporting and disconnection of the alarm signals to the competent security forces or bodies or the training of security personnel.
The legislator understood that not all security systems met the requirements at that time and therefore gave a period of 10 years for the relevant changes to be made. This deadline ends shortly, on August 18, 2021, and that is why we are writing to you to check the status of your security systems.
Our clients receive annual periodic reviews and the changes or repairs that have been made have already been done adapting to the regulations. So, if a change still needs to be made, the intervention will surely be minimal.
However, if you have the alarm system installed by another company, we urge you to contact your provider to make sure that your installation is up to date. If this is not the case, all those alarms that do not comply with the regulations must be disconnected from the alarm receiving centres at the scheduled date.
